Super funny vid!!

Wahaha.. just had to share this vid cos it's awesomely funny. :P

It's part of a Japanese gameshow (apparently named Do not laugh Batsu!) where the contestants are not allowed to laugh at any point, otherwise they get eliminated whacked!! Ha, apparently they did something similar in the year before, and they're reunited this time in the hospital setting. Basically they're filmed for 24h, going through random activities, and they're not supposed to laugh or they'll get whacked. simple as that XP

And I had to add one more clip. it's mighty funny! and has english subtitles. This one's not only whacking for laughing but a test for "guts" haha. Please don't watch it if you can't afford to LOL at the moment :P

becoming a cynic...

For some strange reason, I get very lonely at night. I just sit here alone, and think I shouldn't sleep that early and just end up feeling very lonely. Like there isn't someone I can really call upon to be here at any second, absolutely willing and able to comfort me simply by their presence. letting me lie on them, having them help me get to sleep. nope, nobody. Even if there are people whom I hope would do that, they can't be here right now or.. I am not sure would want to. shrugs.

My Ed Hardy "Love Kills slowly" poster just dropped today. It was actually pasted on my ceiling (and many said WHY?! cos there's like a skull on it and it's staring down at me everyday, altho it doesn't bother me at all. but that's besides the point), and right about this morning it came loose.

I woke up to it half-peeled off. So i pasted it back. It came off again at lunch, and i tried my hardest to stick it back cos i wasn't really tall enough for the job. Almost fell a few times. :S

Anyway, so I went out for Laura's farewell and when i got back the poster was on my bed.

First i wondered.. "Does this mean I should stop believing this now? Is it dropping cos perhaps someone's actually here to prove that that is not true? Like maybe love can be all happy, fulfilling and awesome?" (but this doesn't make sense. cos um, nobody new/ nothing new's happening. HAHA

Then i think "Or is it telling me to stop thinking, and reminding me HEY! Love kills slowly. so stop even thinking. If it dropped in the night, it'd have blanketed me. Enveloped me. geee!"

But what I really concluded... The Blu-tak and tape has just worn out after a few months.

Sigh, being a cynic is less painful. But so not me ): i'm scared.

Gotta love college life.

Living right next to the laundry room has its perks. Obvious convenience and you can probably have advantage when fighting with 30 odd ppl for that one machine, just cos you can hear it when it's not running. But obviously also the downsides. Can't think of any? Let me help you. 1. The noise of machines 2. Possible stench 3.The noise of people walking in and out of there. 4. Bad scenery, you'll understand later. 5th. haha guess there isn't a 5th.

So anyways, I think I blogged before about someone putting up signs to tell others to collect their laundry and not leave a mess there. Well, I shall illustrate to you now. Why is that so?

View of left side of laundry room from entrance.
View of right side (sink) from entrance.

Appealing isn't it? The laundry piles have reached sky high today. It's probably the worst situation this laundry room has seen all year. Clothes are everywhere! In the sink, around the sink, in the pigeon holes, on the dryer, in the dryer, in the washer, outside the washer (in separate laundry baskets), on the ironing board. Oh yea, and it's all kinds of clothes - not yet washed, washed and still wet, washed and dryed yet still lingering around (for varied amount of time).

I wanted to iron a dress today if I'd gone to the bar (which i'm not), but couldn't cos obviously there is no space to. Ha. [the clothes on the board has been taken already haha] And I think.. I hope.. with the new sign (that will be revealed after this), that the mess will be cleared soon and I can peacefully do my laundry this weekend. w00ts! :D
BEFORE-
So this was the old sign I told you guys about..
Of course, that's been thrown into the bin already.
AFTER-
That's what's up right now XP
It just gets more amusing by the day. Whee~ I'm just glad it doesn't smell. I usually just, u know, leap through everything to get my laundry done and then i'm out of there. haha.
Yep just a bit of comic relief I thought I'd bring you :P

It's spring~

Spring is in the air! Or was. haha. This morning I woke up to jolly people in shorts on the floor. haha myself included.

When I got out to get donuts with Amanda, the sun was up, cool breeze.. and lots of people laying out on the lawn! Nice nice. didn't bring my camera along tho, so no photos. Came back and had meetings for uni work. And it began pouring!! Thunder and the works too. Melbourne seriously has the strangest weather ever. But the rain was gone in a bit.. just that, it's still pretty cold right now. And I thought we could not worry so much about the cold tonight *if* we were going to the bar. Ah well. We'll see about that!

Anyways, I promised some photos of my uni the last post. I've got just 3 over here.. I didn't get one of the health sciences building tho. which are a bit further away from college.. but uni is small, definitely smaller than the unis back home. (NUS, NTU..) cos well, i suppose they have more unis here, so they don't have to be that big.

On the short bridge over the moat. That building is Glenn College. Where I stay.
That's just a tiny pond tucked in Simpson lawn.
This lawn is in front of Glenn (across the moat).
There are ducks, and sometimes swans.
That's the Agora, which is where all the eateries and shops are.
Just a quadrangle at the center of uni..
And that's all I have for you now haha. I can't grab good enough pictures to let you have a good idea of the entire place. Let me figure that out. Maybe I'll do a video clip (or a series) on a quiet weekend to show you a tour haha. Those photos were taken on Sunday, it was open house so it's so busy! Usually, it's dead quiet in the weekends and at night.

------------------------------------
So anyways, I went to remove my acrylic nails yesterday. This shop was pretty cheap. They did the soak off, and filed it with the burs (reminds me of dentistry really) and also shaped and buffed my nails. Then they applied a layer of nailtek for me to help strengthen it. All for $20. They're called ProfessioNAIL if you all wanna try it out- they recently had a price restructuring (cheaper). My only complaint is that the girl was in a rush and was a bit rough while shaping and cutting. :S And they should probably be more organised with their appointments/walk-in system. lol. i'm picky cos i've been at the other end of this service. ha.

After that I went to priceline and found some nailart stickers. Not quite like the ones I wanted (which are from Japan and duh that means uber pretty and good quality), but still you can't ask for much here. haha. and I got this edgy stick on nails with argyle printed tips. I LOVE ARGYLE PRINT. (which reminds me I should totally blog about argyles in my fashion blog. ha) When I do all those, I'll definitely upload some photos haha. Meanwhile, I did some "nail art" for amanda and myself on the toes. hehe. (I wish I had those nail art pens so i can DRAW as well?)

That's my toes. with flash. It's a powder pink base. I just put
sparkly studs and stars on it. Wanted it to be more punk-style tho. XP
That's Amanda's. More princessy. Snowflakes and stars on the big toe, with crowns at cuticles for the rest.
Personally, I hope I can do better next time. ha. But i'm glad Mandy liked it! :D

I bought some cool stuff from Body Shop as well, will probably blog that in Zitch-That instead. And then I found some really cheap yarn from Kmart!! Super super nice texture as well. And i'm really excited. Gonna knit some door handle covers. Cos I'm constantly suffering from mini electric shocks from the static build up somehow? When I touch the door knob/handle. it's like ARGH!! Ha. So I'll do a few, for all my lovely friends hehe. Also, I've been so inspired to get online to find knit patterns that I could possibly play around with and get started on a simple project on my own!! I've been knitting under the guidance of Emy (my knit teacher) so far.. and since she's not here, I gotta rely on myself. ha. Saw some pretty interesting stuff indeed! Quite exciting ;)

------------------------------
A bunch of us had a mini outing to Maccas last night. I had a M&M's McFlurry and a Medium fries. I dunno what to say. CRrraaapp?! haha. that is on top of dinner, mind you. Sighh.. I'm gonna have to eat less. Force myself into an exercise regime. And NOT drink beer.  (which I've stopped for a while now) I don't want a beer belly. NOoooo. And I gotta drink more water, sleep more. Keep my metabolism at its peak. HA!
--------------------------
Lastly, Thanks to Kerry who alerted to me that today is.... DORAEMON'S BIRTHDAY! haha. Check out Google's Japan homepage. Their google logo features Doraemon. hhe. And I found this photo in tribute to him too.
Those are some mighty Doraemon fans!
Or actually, one might Doreamon fan with 3 cute (albeit 'tortured') kitties.
Photo credits to Eunice from http://travelerfolio.com/ (Cool travel photo blog)
Anyway, I believe it's Doraemon's.. 39th birthday? Correct me if i'm wrong. But HAPPY BIRTHDAY! To the wonder bot kitty with awesome gadgets that we wished were real! My guess is there'd be a big celebration on his 40th..

I feel happy and i need to catch up!

Just to drop a note.. Finally finished my cinema essay and handed it in today.. Quite a few people asked for last-minute extensions today. And I think Rolando is kind enough to give it to them.. Thought it was rather unfair! They have extra time to do this thing that I had SOOOOO much trouble doing! And they're probably gonna do better than me just cos they probably do this as a core subject. ): The poor health science kid (ahem, me). Well, hopefully that means that people who hand in on time get like bonus brownie points. haha.

I just wanna watch more Angelina Jolie flicks (esp. girl, interrupted!) and definitely more Scorsese films.. I'm becoming such a huge Scorsese fan it's amazing! If I can, I'll watch ALL his shows :P

And with that out of the way, I finally caught up with some of my health science work. Still need one or two more days to completely catch up. Phew~~ (I managed to pack my room too!) Absolutely feel the motivation to be on top of everything this sem. It's moving along pretty fast and I wanna do better in the exams this time. (by not cramming!!) And also cos I've got quite a few events lined up. No, i'm not that busy. It just feels that way haha. I've not been this "on the ball" since forever it seems.

I took some photos of the school, its spring! Shall post it the next time. Tmr, if i have the time..

Oh yea, Check out my review on this neat little shop full of cute stuff! http://zitch-that.blogspot.com/  xo

Hot deal!

I'm getting quite excited at the idea of being back in SG.. and i certainl wanna holiday outside of SG too. Dad asked me if i wanna go back to our hometown in China. Guess I don't mind, see where that goes... And I'll wanna fly to perhaps TW/HK. Dad thinks they are boring (yes, so dad..) SO, I can either 1. convince my dad to go, or 2. Fly there myself and meet up with friends to go along! :D Naturally TW and HK.. i've just the right ppl in mind. but i dunno if they're free.. doubt it. We'll see.

Anyway, there's also this deal.. for a very short trip. To Batam. Heard it from Amanda. It's one of those spa getaways deal. Purely for enjoyment and relaxation. Never been on one, but i suppose i'm feeling old enough to need to relax. lol. It was a pdf file, but i screen-shot it so that i can put it up here.. (shouldn't be illegal, it's promotional material right??)

(Click to enlarge.. it's a little cut off I know)

Sounds good yar? If it were me, I'd opt for an extension, cos 2 day 1 night is a little too rushed for me. I also have a good person in mind..

So...Wanna go with me?

on sleep and psycho kidnappers.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Sleeping late (think 2-3 am or later) is ALWAYS a bad idea and gives horrendous results regardless how many hours u actually get to sleep after?

Technically one should sleep at 11 latest. Apparently there's a prime period where your body optimally rests and repairs stuff (like your skin). Well, I slept a whole lot of hours this morning and still feel tragically beaten up, and i hypothesise it's cos i slept at 3? and at 4 the night(or morning) before. And now i'm actually a little sick, and i think i'm not the only one on my floor... ha.

I've been really bad to myself. I think you're probably all guilty of that too. Some more than others...-cough- Sleep more!! :D I'm going to bed real soon, about to collapse. Argh.

Oh yea, but not before sharing this...
Read them. They're a continuation of stories. Ridiculous! i just wonder... how's Jaycee Dugard now? She must still not be mentally much older than she was when she was kidnapped, that makes her little more than 11?! and she's in fact already 29. gosh. And what about the 11 and 15 year old girls she mothered? They've never known life outside of that backyard. Do they speak? I mean, seriously. And the nerve of that couple to plead innocent!
