more beatles~~

Thanks to Jia, who gave me a copy of the whole collection of the remastered beatles music. he found out about my craze for beatles when he came to visit lol!! This is great, cos now i can truly learn more about all their music!! And not just be another blindly-crazed  fangirl XP

I've only just added 4 albums into my current playlist tho, with songs that are more familiar to me.. from "Please please me", "Help!", "A Hard day's night" and "With the beatles"..  they were made in the time roughly when they were in their 'boyband' stage.. the US visit, and the films.. yup. love!! so, i have already raved about "all my loving".. there are many more sweet songs.. and i feel like Paul's voice makes it more romantic.. strange? It's just his voice quality i think.. John's is a bit more hmm.. i've no clue how to describe it.. it's just more suitable for interesting songs, experimental and rockk.

Anyway, enough rambling.. another song!! not so happy one.

The Night Before

We said our goodbyes, ah, the night before.
Love was in your eyes, ah, the night before.
Now today I find you have changed your mind.
Treat me like you did the night before.

Were you telling lies, ah, the night before?
Was I so unwise, ah, the night before?
When I held you near you were so sincere.
Treat me like you did the night before.

Last night is a night I will remember you by.
When I think of things we did it makes me wanna cry.

We said our goodbye, ah, the night before.
Love was in your eyes, ah, the night before.
Now today I find you have changed your mind.
Treat me like you did the night before.

When I held you near you were so sincere.
Treat me like you did the night before.

Last night is a night I will remember you by.
When I think of things we did it makes me wanna cry.

Were you telling lies, ah, the night before?
Was I so unwise, ah, the night before?
When I held you near you were so sincere.
Treat me like you did the night before,
like the night before.

Really like it! it's... real? i'd say many girls, including myself, can relate to this song.. and maybe guys too.. i'm sure u've suffered from similar fates.. that someone who has grabbed ur heart, gave u hope, but changed their minds? and well, i guess we all think back longingly to "the night before".. when things were perfect (:

haha. been emo lately la, that much is obvious. no thanks to reading some blogs and also having friends confide in me..

--------------------------------

Was also watching gossip girl lol. up to season 2 ep...18? 19? Yea, well, when Blair and Nate got back together again.. seriously, Blair and nate... there are NO sparks!! just.. comfort and ease.. which is always good of course.. but is it really? Would u choose sparks? or an easier way out.. with less excitement?

I was reading Xiaxue's love story... she dated all the wrong guys ("bad guys")  before Mike came along.. and Mike gave her more than she did. I'm not saying there are no sparks of course, sure seemed like fireworks. But, i guess what i mean to say is that... a guy comes along and for the first time, he is willing to give her all the loves he can, and perhaps more than she did. Worked out well for her (: I sat and wondered if that'd happen to me.. but then another part of me started asking "is that what u really want?"

Of course, anyone will be blessed to find someone who loves you so!! and there's nothing bad about it at all.. but I used to fervently believe that it's better to love than to be loved. I was always the one who gave more than the other party did. or willing to. so if one day, i find a person who can give me all that love, i might just question myself... "Am I giving up on my ideals? or is it just that this guy has a much firmer similar belief than I do?" I think i've confused all rather enough, I mean.. Will I one day "settle for easy"? Is that ME?

but like blair said.. "what's wrong with easy?"

gripe!!

lol. i know i haven't been updating for a while. was gonna post some links to photos from gold coast and also joee's trip to singapore.. but facebook is not allowing me to upload the photos! GAH!!

totally made me lose interest in updating lol. but anyways, i've been out and about recently and realised that there're tons and tons of hair extension places nowadays!! i look into the stores and it's like tons of ppl with short hair suddenly endowed with half a head of hair. I was quite pissed off (LOL), just cos it makes my natural long hair seem so un-special and all the less precious. my hair's quite damaged from the swimming and dry weather in melbourne and i'd need to trim it, probably by a few inches ): so i'll end up with shorter hair than all those fake-haired ppl sigh. LOL

And i've decided i wanna do my hair sth like that:

or actually more accurately, like this:

i like the colour!!  but i'm not sure if my hair can take anymore.. haha. but yes, i want mild voluminous waves haha. but i want alba's fringe, just cos my fringe is short now. :P

yupyup!

outrageous!!

hello all.. sorry for the long hiatus. i assure u it was unintended and hence the lack of warning. I just have been busy and then I went travelling. and finally got some time now. Will update soon enough with more details, especially with gold coast stuff (: T'was a really good trip with my buddy Jia! :D

Anyway, I just had to exclaim.. where is an Xbox when I need one?! HAHAHA. found out just a few minutes ago that there is an xbox game by the name of "Beatles The Rock Band" which follows their career journey! DAMN! I sooo wanna play it. but can't. gah. ): And the box sets and all that.. boohoo. I'd recommend it as one of the 21st bday wishlist, but Jia did mention sth abt it being no longer on sale? not sure. but I don't want multiple of the same present, so.. hm.

Incidentally just watched the anthology up till part 6. it's now covering the time when unhappiness arose and all that. just couldn't keep me entertained anymore. but introduction of more experimental music, which is interesting.. definitely a detraction from the early teeny music that appealed to the likes of fangirls (can't deny i'm one tho. haha)

And yes, I feel like having a 21st celebration in Sg, before the actual day.. and then another in melb on actual day. not sure how it'll work out tho, cos i'm not sure exactly what i want yet.. will update. ^^

):

Too tired to do work, yet I am afraid to fall asleep. Just feel so tense all over when I hit the sack just now. Sigh..

Very worried for granny. Miss her, and love her so.. I wanna be there for her, but I can't. My worst fear has come true... and it doesn't help that I've been thinking so much lately. sigh. Anyway, just cried too much. Couldn't and wouldn't stop. Now i'm really just too tired for anything. Worse still, it seems to be making me sick too.. I feel soooo queasy it's not funny...

some food. n some clothes.

A wave of noodle cravings hit me suddenly on Sunday evening. And I rmbed Ajisen Ramen on Bourke street, did a quick search on the net and found it to be open! yay! I like Ajisen enough back home, so I was rather excited for the Melbourne one. (there are not many great Jap food here..) Or rather, very curious to know if the ramen is the same across nations like it should be. Went with Amanda and Sheng~ (later joined by Jeri, Gen, Joee)

A different menu from Singapore's, with some differences in food selection. But the popular ramens are all present. (Cha Shu, Volcano..etc.) Although, they have limited choices for set lunches, and no set dinners.

The condiments. Garlic powder, pepper, chilli powder, chilli oil, soy sauce

Tori Karaage with salad. Nice salad, had a yummy dressing sauce, not sure what it was though. :S The Karaage was normal.

Kimchi and gyoza.

Could've sworn Sg's side dishes are smaller :P but maybe cheaper. The more generous serving size here is much welcomed though. Gyoza's filling was some kind of vege, no meat if I recall correctly. Nice though, although it wasn't an extremely deep impression it left on me.. And kimchi's not in sg menu yea? Kimchi here was normal, but please stick to Japanese food like you should! (i find restaurants lose their "credibility and authenticity" when they serve some dish that doesn't fit what they boast to sell.. Kimchi = not Jap food?)

Amanda's mushroom ramen~
(don't rmb seeing this in SG. the soup is rather plain, but not in a bad way cos then the mushroom flavour is made obvious. Mushroom lovers will like this obviously! Otherwise, don't take this. mostly vegetarian, and it's really bland if u don't appreciate mild flavours or the mushroom flavour.)

Sheng's seafood deluxe ramen
(Soup's got a very strong miso flavour.. i suppose generous servings of squid and prawns. not sure what else.. But i rmb in sg, the seafood would probably come in more variety.. including hokkaido clams yea?!DROOL!)

My Tom Yam Ramen
(stirred slightly i think, hence lack in presentation. But i'd say it's comparable to Sg's in terms of soup taste. altho, i do find Sg's slightly better.. like a very subtle difference. I feel Sg's got this... special milky twist to the tom yam soup..just slightly more than the one here.. And obviously the variety of seafood lacking, but it's their natural limitation here i guess.. All the same, I finished almost every drop of the soup along with all my noodles and ingredients. The girl has been deprived of good Asian soup noodles in a looong time!)

Stacks of coins. The kind of payment restaurants get when a buncha students visit. Splitting bills are the worst! :P

Gen, Jerilyn and Joee came midway and ordered a fried cuttlefish to share. And Joee had a beef ramen.. but I did not partake in those, I was saving space for dessert (which we had at singapore chom chom haha). So no comments there. Food was pretty cheap I think, reasonable at least.. A range of $5-6 for each of the side dishes we ordered.. and my ramen.. was.. somewhere around 10 +/- 2 I can't rmb! Sheng's deluxe ramen cost a bit more at $16. Missed another chance to try the famous durian gelato at  lygon st. Must go on food hunt soon, hear?

-----------

On the topic of food, gotta thank Manda for buying us these cupcakes last friday~

Cute bag!

And therein lies a cute box!

What lies in that box, is the CUPCAKES!! How cute are they?!
Had the heart one ^^ My fascination.

-------------------------------------------------

Enough with food, now I'm gonna give a gallery of some shirts/sweaters I recently obtained/ wore.

A very tired looking me. After clinic observation.

(mannish too thanks to the very oversized uniform. that's a size 10. too big for me. but their smallest is only 8. still too big i imagine. oh well. Clinic was alright. Wasn't as bad as I thought, the seniors were pretty nice. Also caught up with some poddies: James and James haha. Heidi, Lin.. and saw Yang Ming too, and Rob Thorogood.. some ppl we know of but haven't talked to yet. But not very productive use of 3 hours, cos... not much to observe in the end.. just had one patient and pretty standard stuff. Will start on the reflective assignment soon..)

closeup.

A redeeming photo. in a free Glenn college polo tee!

Closeup. The crest of Glenn College is actually really majestic looking isn't it.

Front design of Glenn internationals hoodie sweater (not the best, but oh well!)

The southern cross at the back, and "Daph"! I love it just cos it's got my name on it. My FIRST ever personalised piece of clothing. How deprived. haha. yay!

That's all folks! 2 posts in a night to make up for the rather long absence.. :P

1st south Oscars and my own after party :P

Think i've mentioned earlier that my floor had an Oscars night... basically it was really our own 1st south awards night and it was aweeesommee!! Made the right choice to attend, i do pick and choose my events unfortunately, not as party crazy as most floor mates. but i still love them so (:

There was a barbie before event started. Kudos to Ben and BFG for dinner :P

Best barbie had in Oz, with steak (and wings later) on top of the usual sausage, onions and meat patties.

Rob, before he left for Pursa for his bday thing.

Look at all those drinks! Ha. And a bucket of punch. (that was constantly refilled. thirsty anyone?)

Margi and Ben, our awesome RAs on stage, about to start off the Oscars event.
Most everyone got an award. Some are mighty apt and others hilarious to say the least!

Me receiving my "Queen bee- you invited" award. Ben explaining that I've got heaps of people in my room all the time, now that's true. lol. also telling the story about how he forgot to invite me to my own floor bday celebration  XP (how tan do i look here!)

Ben, Joee, Me.

Me n margi~

Me and Alex, my next door neighbour~

Steph, she does podiatry too (:

Me and Jimmy~ (mr GHD was it?) Floor cutie. XP

Mr Cuddle me Elmo! BFG.

That's Paddy. There used to be so little guys on the floor! haha.

But now there's also Curt. 1 of 3 new additions! (Altho minus Jamie. sad.)

And when I got round to take pics with girls, they're almost all gone. waiting for Pursa. But here's Alanna!

Oh yes, can't forget the Lees!

Didn't go to Pursa, just did not feel up to actually getting out into the city, so decided to stay and then headed off to Eagle bar with our other friends (: Turned out to be a pretty good night.

The live band. Front man commented he liked my shoes! lol.

Said shoes.(which i was seriously wobbling in :P)

Ana, Joee, Min

Min, Jerilyn and Ana. with their (signature) poses. haha.

Sheng and Steve

The crowd grew. Danced till my feet could take it no longer :P

Left.. about 1am yea? Hung out with Jerilyn, Ana and Joee some more till late. was really tired and hungover that day after. which was blogged about so read that. haha.

Hungoverrrr but still able to emo.

Sosoososososososo hungover and tired. goshhhhh.

We had our Oscars -1st South Style yesterday. That's like our private mini awards night for 1st south! Had the most awesome bbq ever in Aus. There was steak n wings too, on top of meat patties and sausages. Then proceeded to drink punch... which was a mix of a hell lot of different drinks, pretty sure there was juice, or was it cordial? and then just a whole variety of alcohol. all in one big tub. probably had 3 or 4 cups of that...

Then, Alana dragged me to her room and I had a glass of Bella, sparkling wine/champagne. Very nice.. Finished that pretty quickly even tho I was flaming red by that time. But then after a while, i got less red. and in fact, the high-ness seems to have worn off after that! So when we headed off to eagle bar, I drank some more. Just one "glass" of wine. wasn't too bad too. Then headed back, drank some more at Joee's.. Red Label + Sprite. Maybe 2 cups in total. not sure. drinking games, it was. Anyways, only got back at ... 430? That was bad. Was quite an absent-minded (literally faded in n out of genuine 'consciousness' haha) scribe. Writing on the poster, copying word for word, and i managed to miss quite a few words, miswrite some words.. and just.. ARGH. lol. i don't feel that hungover as compared to feeling just soooo tired. gah. Will blog about last night with photos later or tmr (:

------------------------------------------

Read gege's blog abt her uncle's cancer.. sorry to hear about it gege. I really wish him all the best! Cancer.. it plagues more n more ppl nowadays, and I won't lie.. I have a fear of getting cancer myself. It's always at the back of my mind... cos I believe it might be genetic.. shrugs. But that's not my point. Point is, someone extremely dear to me had an episode of cancer.. and he's been alright for years now. But who's to say it's not coming back? *touch wood* I mean, i realise i've almost assumed it wouldn't... but obviously it might... Makes me wanna cherish this person even more.. I'll be no short of going hysterical/devastated if anything happens to him... Fuck, this is soooo bad. Thinking about death too much lately. And it scares the shit out of me.. I keep praying nothing majorly disruptive happens within these years i'm in Aus.. cos I get so much less time to be with my loved ones back home.. it's gonna haunt me all my life. deep breaths in. no crying ):

Well, i should get some sleep, and stop brooding over what i cannot control, and just try to make sure i do what's best i can, and not regret anything in the future. On that, i should learn to take care of myself too, for the ones i love.. cos i wish they'd do that for me too...

This week..thus far. (lots of photos!)

Monday.. what an uneventful workshop we had at IPB. GOshh.. waste of time. And we weren't allowed to go until half an hour past so that "it wouldn't be a waste" of our trip there.. well, we spent half an hour doing nothing except chatting. so i dunno what's a greater waste! lol.. but twas fun with Tom and James ^^ Also handed in that report of ours, hopefully that was alright. We're left with that crazy 40% indiv essay and 10% quiz for IPB now.. nervous! (and the 10% one for discipline specific) Gotta start and try to finish asap!

After workshop, went with Amanda for her teeth extraction. I knew she had this immense fear of needles and pain, so I thought a friend would help. Indeed I'm glad I was there for her.. she's still recuperating now.. still sore and hard to eat stuff. :S Get better soon, girl!~

Anyways, we went northland that day.. and randoms. but i bought a bottle of mineral water..

Pink cap and pink elements on its label.
Supporting breast cancer foundation i believe.. I think it's amazing what a pink cap does to a bottle. lol. I told you... random!!

----------------------------

Since it was a Monday, it meant half-price korean bbq at Haan Guuk Guan!! So that night I went out with the Lees for dinner!

Uncle and niece with their intl sweaters.
(waiting for bus)

We got off the bus and this is what we saw.. Joee says it's RMIT. wow. super nice!! I've only seen its modern building.. this one's just amazing though.

Us while I lead them.. both hiding, leaving me in foreground with a relativel bigger face. I somehow look fair in photos!

I got them there!! :D

Beef Bulgogi and Traditionally Marinated Pork + mushrooms!

Lettuce and cucumber to go with BBQ

Cooking the meat.. and shrooms.

Wrap up and eat! Tastes much healthier lol!

Side dishes.. that was unlimited refilling like most korean restaurants~
(I thought we could break the record, but we ended up ordering too many other stuff to have much of this..)

Sneak some photos before more food came..

Fish roe kimchi soup for me, some claypot squid on rice for Joee.
I LOVE MY SOUP! a bit fishy, but tastes so good after.

Dau Bhuk Gi (rice sticks) and noodle combination. noodles to satisfy qimin's craving.

A photo before food! Hair tied up, all ready to eat eat eat!

.
.
.
.

Aftermath!

VERY FULL AFTER. no kidding. couldn't walk very straightt too!

But the Lees did well, they still managed to take in one egg tart each from Chinatown. Had a try. BEST EGG TARTS EVER! haha. very eggy, and very filled with egg custard, less crust. Will get some next time :P (when i'm not keeling over from all that food in my stomach)

We also had chendol and cheng tng from Singapore Chom Chom (a restaurant).. i could stomach that for some reason! :P

us waiting for tram... joee looking like a seasoned camwhore. hahaha!
Took tram back.. and that's about the end..
--------------------------------

But not yet, cos it's time for me to camwhore. I always do that when I get back from outside lol!! Can't waste my eye makeup (which i put on to complement my grey eyes) lol. I seriously look funny with grey eyes and w/o makeup. so i couldn't help it! :P

Closeup of the lenses for those searching. These are Geo Ash Wings.

Had these lenses for a while now. Alway put them on and took them off cos I thought it looked weird. Finally wore it out for the first time now! Think I got used to them. These suit me wayy better than the Geo Tri-colour greys..
-----------------------------------

In the last but most random news!!

See these tiny white balls in the grass patch? They're tiny hailstones!! Little iceballs, that can be best described as looking like sagos (if u know what they are)..

Although I'd like to alert all that it's spring right now.. and from common sense, i don't think hails should be normal at all. haha. albeit, it lasted only a few minutes. But still! Melbourne's weather tops itself all the time!
